about me

Hi! My name is Maria Roshel Cortez. Since I was little, I always loved making creations with polymer clay such as charms and jewellery. I stopped making my creations when grade eight and high school approached. In the year 2020, coronavirus had me out of my job and in quarantine from March to June. While quarantined, I was able to start making my creations again. However, something was different; I wanted to make a business out of it and share it with the world. Now, I am here!

I hope you find something that suits your style and if not, contact me! I will make a custom piece for your liking.

Thank you for supporting my small business.

about the brand

When I was younger, I created a persona named Amber.

My real name is actually Maria Roshel Cortez but I went with Amber to ensure that teachers and my parents wouldn't find my social media (I was a rebellious child, I know). And to be honest, I always thought that "Maria" was so basic. I could change my brand into "maria_creations", but I felt that it was too boring and it had no special meaning behind it.

Amber will always represent my weird childhood whether it was playing COD on PS3 with the account called "Amber_Lee_Marie", making embarrassing polymer clay videos on YouTube, or just being a sneaky child that had an Instagram account when I wasn't supposed to (sorry mom).

My jewellery is made of Polymer Clay.

What is Polymer Clay? Polymer clay is a type of hardenable modelling clay based on the polymer polyvinyl chloride.  It is an oven bake modelling material composed of polymers, resins, colouring agents, and fillers. Polymer clay can be used in an assortment of crafts, including jewelry, home decoration, pottery, scrapbooking, and sculpture.

Once the clay pieces are done curing, they're hard and slightly flexible. Although they are flexible, I do not recommend bending them! The clay is also EXTREMELY lightweight, which is why it's perfect for making larger earrings.

Earring Post

My earring posts are 304 Stainless Steel Flat Round Blank Peg Ear Stud Components. They are also nickel free! I have various customers that have sensitive ears and these posts don't bother them! However, if it does with yours, I can refund you your money and hopefully find a solution that works for you.
